Membership Engagement Specialist

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as both a Receptionist and Member Engagement Specialist. This unique role combines traditional receptionist responsibilities with a strong focus on member engagement and customer satisfaction. As the first point of contact for our organization, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming and positive environment for our members and guests. This is a part-time non-exempt position, with full benefits reporting to the Vice President of the Chamber.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome Center Operations:
    • Greet and welcome all visitors, members, and guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
    • Answer incoming calls, direct inquiries to the appropriate departments, and provide information about our membership and the community.
    • Manage and maintain the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy and organized.
  2. Member Engagement:
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our organization's services, benefits, and programs to effectively engage and assist members.
    • Proactively build relationships with members to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback.
    • Provide personalized assistance and support to members, addressing any concerns or issues they may have.
    • Conduct member satisfaction surveys and gather feedback to improve our services continually.
  3. Event Coordination:
    • Assist in the set-up and clean-up of member events, workshops, and seminars.
    • Execute event logistics, including invitations, registrations, and venue arrangements.
    • Actively promote events to members, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community.
  4. Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative assistance to various departments, including handling mail, filing, and data entry.
    • Help maintain and update member databases and records accurately.
    • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless operations and excellent member service.
  5. Communication and Outreach:
    • Contribute to the development and execution of member communication strategies, such as newsletters and social media campaigns.
    • Engage with members through various channels, including email, social media, and phone calls.
    • Promote membership benefits and encourage prospective members to join our organization.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in customer service, reception, or member engagement roles. Chamber or other Association membership experience is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using office software and database management systems.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for providing outstanding customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
