Young Professionals: Conflict Resolution in the Workplace
The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber Young Professionals Network is designed to provide professional development, networking, mentoring, and volunteer opportunities to chamber members under 40.
With programs and events offered every month, you or your staff will grow professionally, make new connections, and give back to our community.
May's professional development luncheon focused on "Conflict Resolution in the Workplace" will be presented by Judge Echo Hutson.
Judge Echo Hutson is the elected Judge of County Court at Law No. 4 in Montgomery County, Texas, which oversees misdemeanor general criminal cases, as well as two specialty court dockets: Domestic Violence Court and Mental Health Treatment Court. Judge Hutson has dedicated her professional and legal career to protecting Montgomery County citizens and victims of violent crime, initially as a prosecuting attorney, and now through her role as Judge.
Judge Hutson was instrumental in creating Montgomery County’s Domestic Violence Division, and then became the county’s first specialized Domestic Violence Prosecutor in 2011. Over the next decade working as the Chief Prosecutor of the Domestic Violence Division, she developed and implemented incredibly successful specialized Domestic Violence courts in both misdemeanor and felony courts, and created specialized multi-disciplinary callout teams for high-lethality domestic violence investigations, particularly specializing in intimate partner strangulations. She also implemented county-wide policies and procedures for the investigation and prosecution of all domestic violence cases, training and educating law enforcement, other attorneys, victim advocates, and community members as a subject matter expert on Domestic Violence.
As her passion for her work continues in her newly elected role, Judge Hutson loves to speak and educate on matters involving domestic violence and mental health issues in the courts and criminal justice systems. She is also the founder of and hosts the annual Flowers on the Lake, an annual Domestic Violence Awareness Event for Montgomery County.
Judge Hutson lives in Montgomery County, Texas with her husband Ryan and her youngest son. She and Ryan enjoy spending their spare time singing and playing in a local band, along with some of their close friends and colleagues. Her oldest son is 26 years old, a Marine Veteran, and lives in Virginia with his wife. He works as a cybersecurity engineer for a subcontractor for the United States Army.
