Professional Business Development - What Is The FLSA??? -POSTPONED
As an owner or manager, do you have questions about labor laws and the FLSA? Have no idea what the FLSA is?
During this session the attendees will learn about common violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and what you can do to avoid them.
This seminar will be facilitated by Lucy Garcia, Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist for the US Department of Labor.
Her presentation will start PROMPTLY at 8, as doors will be open at 7:30 am to grab some breakfast, sponsored by Primrose School of Conroe and grab a seat.
The FLSA affects most private and public employment. The FLSA requires employers to pay covered non-exempt employees at least the federal minimum wage and overtime pay for all hours worked over 40 in a work week. Covered employees must be paid for all hours worked in a workweek. In general, compensable hours worked include all time an employee is on duty or at a prescribed place of work and any time that an employee is suffered or permitted to work. This would generally include work performed at home, travel time, waiting time, training, and probationary periods.
