President
Reports To: Board of Directors
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Classification: Exempt
Position Objective: The President of the Chamber is responsible for the successful operation of the chamber including financial, membership, special event, marketing, public relations, operations, program of work and maintenance of the chamber building. The position requires a high level of critical thinking, strategic visioning, communication skills, as well as knowledge of financial reporting and human resources.

Responsibilities:
General Duties
1. Serve as the primary contact for all chamber programming, events and operations.
2. Lead all staff meetings and professional development activities.
3. Build the financial strength of the organization through revenue growth and expense control.
4. Enforce By-Laws and operating policy and procedures as established by the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
5. Maintain communication and working relationships with public officials, administrators and business organizations at all levels. Counsel and advise on developments affecting the Greater Conroe/Lake Conroe area business community.
6. Engages, builds and nurtures relationships with the Conroe/Lake Conroe community, including citizens, community leaders and chamber members to promote, educate and execute the mission and vision of Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce.
7. Work with the Chairman of the Board in developing an agenda for the Executive Committee, Board of Directors’ and membership meetings.
8. Oversee the financial operations of the organization for maximum efficiency. See that control of the budget is maintained and that an active membership solicitation program is sustained.
9. Employ and evaluate personnel and develop staff organizational structure. Develop job descriptions, define lines of authority and responsibilities, set up an efficient system of operation, and determine wages within budget limitation. Make final policy and personnel decisions at the staff level. Counsel with staff members in connection with the program of work and committee activities. Be accountable for the performance of all paid employees.
10. Supervise the preparation, interpretation, and the execution of the program of work.
11. See that all contracts and agreements between the Chamber and any other organization, firm or individual for administrative and clerical services are fulfilled.

Requirements
• College degree, IOM designation from US Chamber of Commerce Institute.
• Previous experience with membership-based organizations.
• Experience with financial planning, reporting and forecasting in a non-profit environment.
• 3-5 years minimum experience at an executive level with a chamber of commerce or related non-profit organization.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience planning and executing events/projects in collaboration with others.
• Most work to be performed at the Chamber’s offices, 505 W. Davis St. Conroe, TX
