to the Community
Walgreens' prescription drug misuse awareness initiative kickoffs October 17 at 2 p.m. Join us at Walgreens off of North Frazier Street in Downtown Conroe for a presentation of the safe medication disposal kiosk or "drug drop."
Prescription drug abuse is a growing problem in our country, and our community. About 6.4 million Americans misused a prescription drug, and over 50,000 died in 2015. Most people who misuse prescription drugs get them from a family member or friend, often from a medicine cabinet. As a part of its comprehensive national plan to combat drug abuse, Walgreens has installed a safe medication disposal kiosk in over 500 pharmacies. These kiosks provide a safe and convenient way to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medication at no cost, yea-round.
