Texas non-profit company Transient Mic invites the community to be a part of their concert and fundraiser "Brewin’ Up Somethin’ Good” at Southern Star Brewery in Conroe, TX on Saturday May 19th from 3pm - 10pm. The event will feature live music by local artists Clay Melton Band and Two Thirds. Co-Founder, David Ventura Garcia, will kick off the show by spinning songs from his vintage vinyl collection featuring outlaw country, blues, funk and classic rock. In addition, Transient Mic events have become known for their assortment of eclectic silent auction items that attendees can take home for the right bid. The evening is a chance for the organization to share information on their mission and to branch out into the Texas regional music community. “The Southern Star brewery is such a wonderful venue with a great vibe that’s right in line with our Austin roots. They are a fantastic team of folks that continue to demonstrate a true support of nonprofit organizations and the community,” says Transient Mic President David Ventura Garcia. “We hope that folks can come to our concert, enjoy the bands, support local craft brew, and help us make the world a little easier for aspiring musicians.” Transient Mic became a Texas registered non-profit company in early 2017. Their mission is to facilitate, enable, and empower musicians and artists in the creation, preservation, and distribution of music and sound. The organization is currently pending 501(c)(3) status. Transient mic plans to travel around Texas recording artist's music at no cost to the performers in a mobile, micro recording studio. After the album has been finalized, the artists will retain 100% ownership of their master recordings as a means to foster their talent and preserve their roles as artists in their communities. Currently, the organization is fulfilling its mission by producing its 4 Track Series Podcast which features regional artists in a studio recording session using a four track reel-to-reel tape machine donated by former Chicago and Houston DJ, Mike McCormick. The podcast offers the audience to explore the artist’s sound and the stories behind their music. “Brewin’ Up Somethin’ Good!” is family friendly and free to the public. Donations are encouraged.
